Sprout & Flower in Mere in Wiltshire has been closed for a week for a re-furb. I called over today for the re-opening. Sarah, the owner, had been up since 5am but she was still smiling.
When you call in for your fruit, veg and flowers you can now sit in the window and have coffee and cake as you watch the world go by on the High Street.
Assistant, Josie, has become a Barista as well as an expert on bananas and broccoli.
Sprout & Flower is also stocking daily bread and has a new selection of local cheeses.
On the large central table (built by Sarah's husband Bob) is displayed their normal array of top quality produce.
But the new arrangement makes it easier to see the goods and to move around the store.
It is hoped with a large central table, the shop can become a venue for supper clubs and various tastings and get-togethers.
Sarah was so impressed with Bob's herculean efforts this week he even got a text from her encouraging him to go to the pub. He says it's a first, but I am not sure I believe him!
The 'Flowermonger' section at the back of the shop has been given its own designated counter. This makes it easier for Sarah to serve those who are interested in buying posies and arrangements, or who want to talk weddings.
I know this week has been an enormous amount of work, but I think the results are well worth it.
Congratulations Sprout & Flower!
